Metra has seen a 70% increase in bikes brought on trains since its new bike policy went into effect February 1, the transit agency said.

“That comes on the heels of 2023, the year where we carried the highest number of bikes in our recent history.”

The drama goes away if the Clark St businesses file for permit this spring/summer. The Alderman supports it...and the mayor's office appears to as well. So then the issue goes away and we get the amazing Clark St car-free dining again! - or if the permit is denied then we know
