Danault was a #1 C in Mtl because there was nobody else. It didn’t take long for Suzuki to take over.

Listening to Kent Hughes’ conference and how he talked about not blocking the path of young Dmen like Reinbacher and Mailloux, how Robidas talked about Guhle and what Hutson showed in his two games gives me hope that KH is not married to the idea of keeping Matheson.

In 2019/20, Quinn Hughes’ first season, he played 21:53 min/gm, second behind Edler. He was Lane Hutson’s age and not meaningfully bigger.

By 2020/21, Hughes had the most TOI in Vancouver at 22:48 per gm.

I think we can easily expect those kinds of minutes out of LH, KG & DR.

17 year old Sam Dickinson has now played 158 OHL games (regular and POs).

Logan Mailloux left the OHL at 20 with a grand total of 96 games played.

A lot of his defensive woes would have been ironed out if he had played 200+ OHL games.
