Year 4 have been enjoying the start of their new English study book, Leon and the place between, by creating their own circus tent!

On Friday we celebrated our Harvest Festival. We would like to thank everyone for all the generous food donations, which will be very much appreciated by those in need in the local community.

As part of World Mental Health Day, Reception and Year 1 enjoyed listening to the author and illustrators of ‘Gory Rory Fangface’ sharing their book as part of the National Literacy Trusts Take 10 minutes to read.

During a recent year 3 maths lesson the children created human calculations using 3 digit numbers.

Today for the launch of World Space Week Year 1 and Year 2 talked about the solar system and thought about what we would take to space. We took part in a space quiz and crafts. In our space week assembly we shared our learning and crafts with Reception.

Congratulations to Natasha in Year 5 who won the Year 5&6 (Girls) Tameside Catholic School’s Cross Country Race. Well done to all those who took part.

Year 5 have been learning about the climate in Argentina. They then used the facts they had learnt to write and present their own weather reports.

On Friday Year 3 got the opportunity to visit their local heritage centre and observe how Mossley would have looked over a hundred years ago.

In Science, Year 1 have conducted an experiment to see what colours were hiding in leaves. They made observations and predictions and were surprised by the different colours they found.

The year 5 children have been planning a debate for and against the question Should Annie go down Niagara Falls in a barrel?

Year 6 have been making arrays to help our understanding of common factors.

Year 3 have been learning the names of the bones and making skeletons as part of their Animals including Humans Science topic.

Year 6 have been making light mazes to investigate how light travels in straight lines.

Year 1 have been discussing and observing the changes across the seasons. This afternoon the children created fabulous four Seasons trees using watercolours.

As part of their English lesson, year 5 have written postcards to their friends describing their first impressions of Niagara Falls.
