Today's report from Speech and Language UK finds that teachers now estimate that 1 in 5 pupils are struggling with their speech and language. More than half of teachers say they have not had enough training on how to support pupils' speech and language.

Appalling to see so many deaf people having to explain that MAKATON IS NOT A SIGN LANGUAGE in #SignLanguageWeek Makaton are signs adapted from BSL (in a highly problematic way) used with spoken English. It's actually English with key word signing, not a real sign language.
