The entire St Ciaran’s community is deeply shocked and saddened to learn of the passing of our Year 13 pupil, Kamile Vaicikonyte. Our hearts go out to Kamile’s parents, sister and wider family circle; they are in our thoughts and prayers at this sad time.

Best wishes to Alanna Nugent who has reached the All Island Final of the Healthy Home Chef Cookery Competition (junior final). The final will be held today in ATU St Angelas, Co. Sligo.

Ryan Colhoun, Product Director and Co-owner of trucorp, and past pupil of St Ciaran's, launched his First Aid/defibrillator training app for KS3 pupils in school. St Ciaran's will be the first school to use the app to train KS3 pupils, with the help of the Year 13 volunteers.

Mark Mc Ginley (8MD) was awarded 'top interview of the week' from hundreds of entries across N.Ireland,  participating in the award-winning 'Irish News Young News Readers Media Project'.  Mark's winning interview was published in this week's school edition of the paper.

Today is Earth Day 🌎and 9DC are highlighting some of the fantastic work being carried out in school by our pupils. The recycling of batteries and the collection of food waste are just some of the green actions that our pupils are involved in.

Recently, we had our Spring Concert showcasing the wonderful talents of our pupils. We had junior and senior choir, soloists, Irish dance, modern dance, instrumentalists and drama performances. We also had a few surprises along the way with songs from Laura and Mr Halligan.

Good luck to AnnaLeigh McKenna in Year 9, who qualified to represent and race for NI at tomorrows London Mini Marathon.

Wee Critters came for a return visit, to talk to our Year 8 Geography pupils about animals in the tropical rainforest ecosystem.  Pupils thoroughly enjoyed the interaction with the animals.  A massive thank you to Allan for his enthusiasm and for the informative sessions.

Killeeshil and Clonaneese Historical society have extended an invitation to a talk about Cardinal Joseph MacCrory on Tuesday 23rd April in Killymaddy centre by Damien Woods.

The Kenna family will be interviewed and also perform together tonight on RTÉ Radio One's Ceili House show Live at 9pm.

Our current pupils Ciaran and Caitriona will perform alongside their siblings Eugene, Daniel, Sinead and Peter (James is currently working in the US).

Best wishes to our Year 11 student, Kevin Rafferty as he competes in the final of the 66kg All-Ireland boxing competition, tonight in Dublin.

Congratulations to our Year 9 girls who have qualified for the Netball NI Minor Final. The final is to be played on Monday 15th April, in Lisburn Rackets Club. Well done girls!
