I am another Pell Grant recipient. It was one of several such grants I received to allow me to attend a great university. As we start another academic year, happy 50th birthday to this important US government program. #PellTurns50

The academic elephant in the room, with significant implications for faculty diversity, as the full article explains: profs at US unis 25x more likely to have parent w/ PhD than the population overall. At top schools, it's double that. I'm at a 🇨🇦 uni but seems similar here.

These folx put this together for an academic conference then COMPLETELY UPDATED it AFTER with ALL PARTICIPANTS' FEEDBACK, including from this loudmouth, yours truly. Then they recirculate it so all benefit! Now that's putting #cooperation into practice. ❤️this research community.

US voters, please call your Senator to #PassPrice so that cooperatively owned manufactured housing parks like those with ROC USA can access funds for their basic infrastructure needs (which are often not paid for by local govts for these communities). Linda Shi Zachary Lamb
