My team calls me a 'Martian mountain climber,' and as of today, I've ascended 2,625 feet (800 m) from the place I landed in 2012. That’s a half mile up Mount Sharp! 🎉

#OnThisDay in 1967, Soyuz 1 launched. 🚀

Soyuz spacecraft are still used to send astronauts and cosmonauts into space as recently as March 2024, though have been updated and redesigned since then.
