Many TradFi processes make sense if you model the financial system with one-day block times and fee-free flash loans. Multi-day settlement is just the optimistic challenge period or withdrawal delay of the US equities chain with the DTCC as the single validator.

Wonder what the killer use case of blockchains is? Cross-border payments? Fungible (or not) tokens? Decentralized global currency?

We’ll let you in on a secret. The killer use case is: atomic multilateral settlement.

What’s that? Let’s break it down👇

Using .Box domains, Suave, Axiom and clever engineering, I think we can finally get truly decentralized frontend-apps that work as good as normal websites, with no central intermediaries needed for trust.

Hoping to write out the full idea soon!

Representatives Congressman Drew Ferguson & Rep. Wiley Nickel introduced a bill today that would clarify that taxes on block rewards - whether derived from proof-of-work or proof-of-stake networks - should not be applied at the time they are acquired, but at the time they are disposed of.

Palley on the rule of law and practice as a lawyer in this country: How are you supposed to advise clients if nothing has the permanence of law? Not only is the regulator's website saying something different than the DOJ, it's been saying the same different thing for over 10…

Just think about how you’d feel as a client if your lawyer explained that the regulatory guidance on a federal government agency website isn’t dispositive and you might still go to prison if you follow it but that you can’t ask the prosecutors for guidance in the alternative.

I made a little tutorial of what it looks like to chase the page-level memory access pattern of a victim process in Linux
github.com/amiller/access…
This is pretty much what the attacker in SGX or TDX could see, but the tools in this tutorial only analyze non-TEE processes
