Jeremy Levine Erin McDonnell I upload every paper I do to SocArXiv before I submit them to a journal so there is actually not much anonymity if a reviewer googles it. reviewers shouldn't google stuff. and we just simply embrace the notion of "working paper" so that these do not matter, imho.

Very true. Impossible for the current index-based, gated, restricted system of publishing to continue to drive hiring and promotion decisions. Open access is the future of scientific communication but hard for committees to catch up with the reality.

Wonder how richer social sciences will get if we support and boost SocArXiv and Center for Open Science just as engineers leverage ArXiv.
