If you'd like to relive the amazing display of 10th May, my film of my dusk 'til dawn aurora experience, shot at the beautiful Mullard Radio Astronomy Observatory just outside Cambridge, is out now on my YT channel. ✨πŸŽ₯

Noctilucent Cloud season is approaching, late May to early Aug. Their frequency is connected with the solar cycle, stronger the cycle the less activity, will they put on a surprise this year? we will have to wait and see. Read more... nightskyhunter.com/Noctilucent%20…

The geomagnetic storm of the 10th-11th was one of the top 20 'Great Storms' over the last 500 years which is defined as naked-eye aurora being seen <30Β° magnetic latitude. It was seen to the naked eye as far south as New Caledonia which had not seen visual aurora since 1859.

The aurora on Friday was so insanely huge at times that I couldn't even capture its entire height with a 14mm lens in portrait!

Here are those wonderful colours above the One Mile Telescope outside Cambridge, UK.

Still buzzing. 🀩

Last chance to see the marvellous AR3664 as it leaves the Sun's visible disk.
Responsible for the aurora show at the weekend, I wonder if it will survive its trip around the back of the Sun?
