This is so counterproductive. Cuts to management, admin and support staff are a key reason why the huge increase in clinical staff over recent years has not resulted in substantially more hospital activity

π’Š“π’…‚π’“π’—π’•π’— Steve the skeptic The β€œspend before year end” rule doesn’t help. In the Blair/Brown years I was told I had money to spend in my department on a Thursday, but the bid was due by next Tuesday and spent within 4 months of today. That just doesn’t work for sound capital spending. We squandered it.

π’Š“π’…‚π’“π’—π’•π’— Steve the skeptic At All-Party Parliamentary Health Group yesterday it was suggested that a barrier to adoption was that the NHS broadly lacks IT staff with the experience to bring new tech on board.
You also hear NHS still operating legacy tech with expired, unsupported software

This one’ll make you catch your breath - so basically the NHS & Treasury collude to rob Peter to pay Paul ⬇️
