Infrastructure development & capacity augmentation of Ports is a continuous process. As a result, total cargo traffic handled by 12 major ports is on the rise & has reached 12.31 Million TEUs in FY 2023-24 as compared to 11.39 Million TEUs in FY 2022-23, an improvement of 8 %.

Regular commuters & transporters have been immensely benefitted with the construction of Ro-Ro Jetty at Ghodbunder, Dist. Thane, by MoPSW under it's SAGARMALA scheme. The jetty provides water transport to decongest the vehicular traffic
on Mumbai Ahmedabad National Highway.
