Dan King So, devs need to migrate from Google Life Sciences to Google Batch. This is hardly the first time this has happened (remember JES, PAPI, PAPIv2?). Additionally, I think dev groups knew this was coming.

Dan King As mentioned, WDL support will be coming very soon to Batch. Batch also supports various workflow engines such as Nextflow, Redun, TorchX, and Covalent at the moment. The migration path to Batch will simply be a few parameters so nothing will be lost.
Dan King Although Life Sciences will be shut down, all of its functionality and more will be covered by Google Cloud's Batch product. Batch will provide a more comprehensive feature set to deliver improved workload flexibility and cost optimizations.
