Re-reading the Mason/Allsop monograph, when we had breeding GolOrs in England in small nos, avg mean arrival dates for 1st males not until mid-May. 1st females avg date June 1st.

Despite missing Neil Calbrade's Cuckoo, Whitethroat & Little Ringed Plovers at BTO #NunneryLakes earlier, I was pleased with my contribution to the day's haul of migrants! My 6th spring Ring Ouzel here, but first for 7 years. 📷definitely at the #recordshot end of the spectrum.

Got back from the pool at 9:30pm to find the neighbours making a right old racket!

Two House Martins at BTO #NunneryLakes today were my second earliest in 15 years. More avian signs of spring in the form of a Swallow, 15 Chiffchaff and 4 Blackcap on my #BirdTrack #completelist .

It'll be very sad to see the curtain fall on Faye Vogely's tour de force at BTO in May, but it's a great opportunity for someone else wiv d skilz.
