This has been ongoing for years. Drivers can’t see the pedestrian crossing and crossing pedestrians can’t see the cars. Someone will get killed here one day.

We do enjoy imprisoning our rivers and streams in Ireland. As I gazed upon this recent piece of work in Carrigtwohill, across the road from the new college, I couldn’t help but think that it could’ve been done a little more sensitively.

The swallow was chirping away right in front of the hide. It then flew directly at me, through the window and perched on a rafter above me where I noticed another swallow next to a recently constructed home.

Beautiful morning along the Curraheen walk this morning. Birdsong everywhere. Very few people about so I had it mostly to myself. I’m no greenway expert but I think this is an example of getting it right. No mesh fences or barriers to wildlife along the riverbanks.

Blackpool Tidy Village group stencilled the bridge over The Bride and added plants to the Parklet and trough. Creative and satisfying work! 👏🙏👏

A bit of stencil work with Wisetek volunteers and Blackpool Tidy Village group this afternoon. We opted for an abstract colour palette.

Join us on Saturday 11-1 for a leisurely cycle along the Lee to see what we can see with Cork Community Bikes. I feel it is important to point out that I am certainly not an expert - just a nature appreciator who enjoys cycling along the lovely Lee corkcommunitybikes.com/product/18th-m…
