On today's protests at UT Austin:

Just to be clear: an Austin-area DA whose views don’t comport with the Authoritarian #txlege isn’t the definition of “rogue.”

This is a move straight out of the Authoritarian Playbook of Texas' very own rogue prosecutor, Attorney General Ken Paxton. State leaders do not choose district attorneys - that is a privilege that belongs solely to local voters. #txlege

Any lawyer and lawmaker can see the value in prosecutorial discretion, to ensure that justice, rather than politics, is served.

This issue is bigger than one prosecutor and one county. D & R alike must not fall in line behind this authoritarian coercion. #txlege #TravisCounty
