Thanks Lesley Parkinson 💙 for supporting our bookclub in NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde. We are learning together about the six simple restorative habits that are easily taught to our teams, which can allow us all to access our innate empathy and compassion in tough times. It works 🥰

Thanks for sharing Dr Cyrus Abbasian Burn out and the impact of vicarious trauma are everywhere in healthcare. Restorative approaches to compassionate leadership have the power to be transformative. Check out Lesley Parkinson 💙 's book about the restorative habits we all need to learn... 💖

A sad day for the nursing profession or a pivotal one? This is an opportunity for the nursing profession to heal and move forward. The reasons this culture evolved are multi-factorial and we see the same cultures in every large UK institution. Will GMC follow suit?

There's about 12 hrs to go before I depart the UK. Thanks for all the memories and lessons. I hope with the new government that the NHS will receive the support it needs to flourish again. Staff must no longer be expected to prop up the service with goodwill.

Whilst looking at NHS reform we also need to prioritise investment in colleague wellbeing - at system level. Needs system change around need to address workplace factors and team factors and not purely focus on building individual resilience. No staff = No #NHS Wes Streeting MP

Dear anna baverstock, this is wonderful. System change that supports recovery from burnout by building, maintaining and repairing relationships at work is what will save the NHS. Government targets need to focus on staff wellbeing and not our productivity.

Banning crossbows isn't the answer. If he didn't have a crossbow he'd have used a knife. If he didn't have a knife he'd have used a hammer. If he didn't have a hammer he'd have used his bare hands. The weapon isn't the problem.

Domestic abuse spikes 26% when England plays, 38% if they lose, and 11% the day after, win or lose. Women's safety is at the mercy of men who can’t control themselves over a football game. Yet women are labelled emotional and crazy.

Racism is alive in Britain because it never died. The same horror stories my dad endured being a brown immigrant in this country are the ones I’m seeing repeat themselves today. The same racists that tormented our parents raised their own kids who are tormenting us. #ukriots
