As RBSA Gallery's Portrait Prize exhibition has opened, I wrote about what it's like to be an artist's muse. I was honoured to sit for Danny Howes who captured me relaxing at home, with my art books

35 brilliant Birmingham libraries need saving, so 35 writers are protesting - through words. I'm proud to be one of them and look forward to sharing my short story

My authors copies arrived today 🥹a mindful and gentle moment holding this in my hands - my first reaction was “oh, here you are”. Years of work, collaboration with amazing minds and sharing on paper finally. Can’t wait to see it out there, I’ll post the beautiful reviews next 🙌

I've judged a fair few art competitions, but my favourite has been 'draw your teacher' Kings Heath Primary School. You can definitely tell the strict from smilier characters at the school! 🌟

Ruth Millington There’s this one too: Piles of French Novels, 1888. Apparently van Gogh described his collection of Parisian yellow novels as “a great source of light” though I can’t find the ref for that quote, but I imagine he appreciated the way the yellow covers reflected & brightened light
