I don’t like to complain, but I gotta say: Winter is such a miserable season that I’m already having panic attacks about *next* winter.

Watching “Anatomy of a Fall” and am just perplexed by the French legal system.

Are French criminal trials just, like, a really classy talk show? A hostile Quaker meeting? Do lawyers and witnesses really just talk whenever they feel like it?

Enormous thanks to my editors at the BBC—and to all the folks who consulted with me about the life and legacy of Major Taylor :)

The concept of a “traffic garden” is about as simple as it gets: Take a paved lot that nobody is using, paint it over with simulated streets, and invite children to bike around.buff.ly/3OgGnTf

As someone who loves a journey more than almost anything, I still found this nihilistic counter-argument delicious. I disagree with almost everything said, but it’s a very provocative bit of rhetoric. As usual, many thanks,

Really, what kind of metric is this? I “appeared in 22 searches”?

Do I work for FEMA?

Do I know what Gracenote is?

Do I live, work, or spend meaningful time in Riverside?

Believe me, those 18.2% looking for a medical assistant who find my name will be sorely disappointed.

It’s always fun to discover that someone has not only read your book, but echoed many of its themes. This woman apparently moved to my old ‘hood in Costa Rica, prayed it wouldn’t be the teeming hive of insects and vermin that my apartment was… and failed. centralamerica.com/living/daily-l…

I've enjoyed the Harbor Freight ads for a 'Pittsburgh Tool Set.'

Apparently, this branding means zilch. No tangible connection to Pittsburgh.

But I picture a box full of pierogis, a Terrible Towel, a Cathedral of Learning paperweight, and a Mr. Rogers sweater. And I'd love it.

And just like that, I've started my first article for 2024 publication.

It's like the first sighting of Christmas decorations at the store. 'Is this happening already...?'

Hey,RIPTA – twice in the past week, a 21 bus has simply driven past me at a well-marked stop. To say this has cost me time and money is an understatement. Have stops been discontinued? If so, how are we supposed to know?

This was great fun to put together for Explore. I love a wild rumpus, but some of my favorite bachelor parties were just chill little adventures with good friends.
