1L Precept resistant radish (left) re-sprayed with 1L Mateno Complete (right). 18DAT all killed indicating no cross-resistance between the two. Probably only 1 plant - on the very left - is trying hard to survive. It’s Cunderdin radish well known to be hard to kill.

Very short timelaspe story of 3 days after paraquat treatment. 1 photo every 3 minutes for 2hr/day. Three samples are resistant and are on the come back after 3 days only, while all the rest is flattened by 500g ai (2L Gramx250/ha).

Pretty interesting to spend some time looking at Roberto Busi work with resistance testing. Thanks for the invitation. Same populations, different treatments, different results. Pictures show Pyrasulfotole with a varying actives; MCPA, bromoxynil, diflufenican and picolinafen.

Effect of second knock comparing 3 rates of paraquat vs same 3 rates of diquat (250,500,750 g ai) on paraquat-resistant fleabane. One step closer to estimate LD50 values and find a simple solution to control it.

Four new ARG samples resistant paraquat (and glyphosate) confirmed in 2024 from WA. Last year it was only two.

There is plenty of
AHRI UWA SAgE
work on ryegrass atm I was thinking to show to those interested on Friday May 31 after lunch at 1pm?

Glyphosate resistant rye grass over summer becoming very common (sparklers) these days- dormancy has changed. Takes a whole new approach with knockdowns and spikes with pre em interaction to bring them down. Chris Davey Barry Haskins Roberto Busi Peter Boutsalis

Four photos: Untreated, Paraquat 250 p, Terrain Flow testarossa7 + Sierra 150ml (+Hasten), Paraquat + TerrainFlow + Sierra (+ Hasten). 7DAT: highly paraquat resistant ryegrass treated at 2leaf stage can be killed relatively easy. Now repeat with larger plants and origin field.

Roberto Busi Wish we could get all herbicide users to understand this and therefore the importance of targeting VERY small weeds.
Pic below is fleabane.
Contact herbicides should be limited to 1&2 from left. Systemic products 2&3. Steel only option for consistent effective results on weed 4

Nice work Roberto, with glufosinate ~ $5/L this is a new game. I met with Leir last week and they are trying to get L-glufosinate registered in Oz - that will lower the price ~ 30%. Don’t forget to keep trying small spikes of grp 14’s, 1/10 rate even? 👍

Fops & Dens are struggling on wild oats in the eastern states. Long term fop use in cereals is resulting in moderate to high levels of resistance. Pays to test!!

Lots of options especially with more diverse crop rotations eg canola & pulses. WeedSmart Peter Boutsalis
