A blind spot is the area of the road that can’t be seen by looking through your windscreen or by using your mirrors. Blind spots can be large enough in size to easily block another car, motorbike, cyclist or pedestrian from your view.

NI Road Policing and Safety
Where you see temporary traffic lights/traffic signs there will often be people working on the road.
With an increasing number of road works happening, we're focusing on #RoadWorkerSafety & urging drivers to obey these legally enforceable signs/signals.
Remember - it's the law!
Country roads often have sharp bends & poor visibility.
Anticipate people walking or cycling, horse riders, motorcyclists and slow-moving farm vehicles around every corner.
So, slow down, take your time and brake before a corner, not on it.

As the new term begins, remember to slow down when approaching schools.
And be aware of children walking and cycling to school, perhaps negotiating traffic for the first time.

Be aware of the dangers of country roads: a bend, dip, brow of a hill - another road user could be hidden from your view.

Do not hold up a long queue of traffic, especially if you are driving a large or slow-moving vehicle.
Check your mirrors frequently, and if necessary, pull in where it is safe and let traffic pass.
