Now is the time to extol the virtues of grazing livestock in a fertility building system. Livestock can be a significant part of the answer to climate change & the farming industry now needs to prove it can deliver climate and biodiversity solutions. #thereisanotherway

Every week is #NetZeroWeek at many farms up & down the country. Between 2016 and 2019 we sequestered over 5000 tonnes of co2 net of emissions. Expecting that figure to be a lot higher when we test again in 2024. Mob grazing cattle accelerates this and biodiversity recovery.

Paulownia growing in an agroforestry system as part of a Living Lab project with University of Kent helps to catch nutrients lost by alley crops, sequester tonnes of CO2, produce high quality timber & adds diversity every week is #NetZeroWeek

Our journey to net zero included huge reductions in fertilizer use through the continued improvement in soil health. The wheat in the foreground has had 120kg N as opposed to 280kg 5 years ago, the OSR in the background has had 56kg N against 180kg 5 years ago #NetZeroWeek

Well I’ll be damned, many people knew this to be the case, always good to have validation…. #netzeroweek rothamsted.ac.uk/news/fertilise…

We have a black soldier fly larvae system that turns fruit & veg waste into protein for chickens. A by product is a valuable fertilizer called frass, we add Actiferm to ferment and turn it into a stable product for use at a later date All part of our net zero mission #netzeroweek

For anyone concerned about forage stocks due to the dry weather we have a large amount of lucerne hay and haylage available. An excellent feed with decent levels of protein, the haylage in particular is highly palatable. DM me for details.. #forage #lucerne #hay #haylage

Be interesting to see how this line develops. Ex Lucerne, To the left drilled into a shakearated surface on the right direct drilled. Seed placement good on both roots left in tact on the DD side are mainly exposed on the left. #harvest23 #regenerativeagriculture

Andrew opie of The British Retail Consortium states on Channel 4 News that supermarket’s are running at 1,2,3% profit margins that are ‘unsustainably low’ yet they expect all their suppliers to work at these levels or at a loss. Our food system is broken and retailers are largely responsible.
