Someone just told me the reason I’m so over protective of my kids and track them.
Is because no one give a shit what I was doing when I was a child.
I wasn’t protected.
And I just stood there.
Thinking fuck.
This hit me hard.

“Do NOT ever mistake a trauma survivor using their voice as living in the past.

You have absolutely no idea how long it took them to find that voice.
Be supportive.

Things my mental illness sometimes stops me doing..

• picking up the phone
• leaving the house
• eating healthy
• exercising
• laughing
• doing my hair or makeup
• getting dressed

Sometimes being able to do one of these things is a victory.

Retweet if you understand

Motherhood taught me that pure love actually does exist and it’s very real.
My children’s love saved my life.
Because of them I’m here today.
And finally after much chaos and uncertainty I became the mother I no my children are proud of.

RIP to everyone that didn’t make it.
Depression, mental health issues and illnesses are no joke.
I’m sorry you weren’t able to continue the battle.
I’m sorry 😢

Family is supposed to be our safe haven.
But very often....
It's the place where we find the deepest heartache and pain.
If you understand this. I love you.
You aren't alone.

As a result of trauma you may have:

Kept secrets.
Pushed people away.
Engaged in self destructive behaviours.
Find it hard to trust anyone.
Pretended to be okay when you weren’t.
Constantly fearing the worsted will happen.
I understand.

Just heard someone say.

Some of us never found time to be happy because we were too busy trying to be strong.
I felt that I felt that a lot.

Suicidal people deserve a safe place to talk about their suicidal feelings.
Without thinking they could be locked in a mental hospital.
That fear is so real and so many can’t speak up due to the fear of what might happen.
I was so afraid so I kept quiet.

I just heard someone say.
The reason you isolate when you’re struggling is because you were left alone as a child to deal with your emotions.
I felt that, I felt that a lot.
Woah

Depression is,nt just sadness.
It’s hating yourself.
Having no motivation to do ANYTHING .
Never being able to sleep.
Struggling to get out of bed.
Knowing you have stuff to do, But can’t do it.
Ignoring hunger.
Forgetting about self care.
Depression isn’t always sadness.

I remember feeling like I had to protect my dad.
I remember thinking what will happen to me
My dad was all I had.
So I had to put up with his violents, abuse, neglect and addiction habits.
I was trapped.
Sometimes people can’t speak out.
Because they are trapped.
Unable to speak
