HoodGuard 🇵🇸 Horus Rising is a great start once you get the baseline of the universe. A lot of it doesnt hit if you don't know what the state of things in 40k. That and yeah, doesn't explain stuff. Source? It being my second ever 40k book. Had to read it with the wiki open lol.
