Looking back there’s only one thing that surprises me about Thursday’s results on Teesside.
That was the turnout - which fell on 2021 when I confidently expected a significant increase.
For those of us political nerds it’s hard to understand why 70% don’t bother voting at all.

Pretty impressive that over 24,000 people got out their photo id, went to the polling stations and voted Binface, Count.
