Wow. Clearly a major leap in the utility of search. I really like that you can ask it to organize information into tables…

This was a great webinar highlighting the findings and applications of the World Bank Findex data. I found Jonathan Morduch's short reflections (towards the end of the session) on financial resilience particularly thought provoking and useful. Thanks for this Innovations for Poverty Action!

Chile’s tax and transfer system does comparatively little to reduce income inequality from earnings. Interesting proposal by @ignaciobriones to expand the use of cash transfers to reduce inequality and incentivize formalization of economic activity.

Ive been thinking a lot about the acts of courage, defiance and resistance that are unfolding across Ukraine as its people defend their freedom, democracy & homeland. Of this I am certain, as long as tyranny threatens liberty anywhere, Ukraine's heroes will inspire generations🇺🇦

Very good article by Adam Taylor cites my recent work with Paul Gubbins & Anne Bakilana. It highlights the 2 main points: COVID deaths & infections in Africa are likely greater than official numbers, and there’s lot of uncertainty washingtonpost.com/world/2022/02/…

My new post with Paul Gubbins & Anne Bakilana examining counts of obituaries in Kenya as a way to get some sense of pandemic excess deaths🧵blogs.worldbank.org/africacan/coul…

In the absence of good data on all-cause deaths from vital registration systems, can obituaries tell us anything about the scope and dynamics of mortality during the pandemic in ? Although there are limitations, the answer is yes. blogs.worldbank.org/africacan/coul…

Learned a lot from this event on wastewater testing as a surveillance tool in public health. The returns to investments in building wastewater testing capabilities appear to be massive from a prevention standpoint, hope to see more advances & adoption! Congrats Jeremy Veillard!
