The recent misrepresentation of the new Hate Crime Act in Scotland trivialises the violence our community faces.

Our statement⬇️

Scotland’s parliament passed the Hate Crime Act; its provisions protect freedom of expression with direct reference to article 14, ECHR.
When someone rich and famous believes they can flout the law by defaming an entire minority that they prove the case for the law.

Just a small reminder of what could have been.

One of these two was able to fill in their application to be London Mayor.

The other is Laurence Fox.

Very proud that Equity are pushing ahead with making 5-day rehearsal weeks the standard. Where some industries are pushing for 4 days we’re still stuck in the dark ages. Hopefully we’ll get 5-day show weeks at some point, too. Work-life balance, innit.

A matter involving an Equity member and an Independent Producer commissioned by the BBC was brought to our attention on 27 March.

We have been in touch with the member and the BBC over the last couple of days and the BBC have since issued a statement on the matter.…
