After many years of volunteering at Chartered Institute of Fundraising #CIOFFC I chose not to apply or attend this year because I couldn’t align my values with an organisation that wasn’t taking issues of sexual harassment and professional conduct seriously.

I hoped things would change….

I am missing the camaraderie and missing the connection with fundraisers and friends that has meant so much to me for so many years, but this shows me just how much work Chartered Institute of Fundraising still has to do if they are serious about creating and promoting a safe profession for everyone

If you’re attending #CIOFFC this week I urge you to call out bad behaviour or what some would deem to be ‘harmless fun’ or ‘just jokes’. For victims and survivors there is nothing harmless about this behaviour and language - it is a reminder that we have a lot more work to do.
