When you can sleep anywhere in the house.! Sofas dog beds and she has chosen my jumpers I’m going to wash when I get a moment. Is it because they smell of me??

My weathervane my adorable black cat. He has been sleeping outside for the last week. The weather has been sunny and hot and dry at night!
Tonight we are expecting heavy rain! He is sleeping peacefully beside my Aga in his basket.!!

So today I backfilled the areas I dug out over the last week with shingle. Then a friend today put concrete onto the area outside the kitchen that was pooling water outside the kitchen drawing water into the house. It’s going to rain tonight so I hope it’s successful.!!

From my kitchen tonight.! Having been busy working on the cottage today it was what’s in the freezer and garden tonight for supper..!!

A tub full of bluebell bulbs. How do I know if they are Spanish. I presume they are?

Before it rains on Monday I’ve managed to dig out around the cottage. Hundreds of bluebell bulbs. Maybe Spanish ones.? How do you tell the difference?
They will be replanted soon.
Painted the exposed concrete tonight and will do the rest tomorrow once it’s dried.!!

Today was digging out the side border of the cottage to make a Dutch drain. I’ve got to paint the walls tomorrow once the concrete has dried.! Another effort to try and keep the cottage dry inside. It’s taken me about 7 hours..front of the house tomorrow.!

So I’ve spent a couple of hours on my hands and knees digging out a border. I started it 2 days ago! Will carry on tomorrow and then paint the wall exposed! Hoping it will help the damp problems at the cottage.!

Teasel has had an exhausting morning making up 5 beds.!! After my son’s party weekend.!! Thank heavens for dry sunny weather drying so many duvets , sheets and towels.!!

My daughter picked lots of asparagus yesterday.!!
