As a new mum starting a new challenging fellowship this hit home. It is not easy leaving our children to travel but it is also difficult to not be able to take these opportunities due to caring responsibilities and associated costs. More flexibility and support is needed!

This is such an important article - since having my son, conference traveling is a whole new challenge! I’m grateful for initiatives like the BSCB childcare award which enabled me to attend an international conference this year but more is needed!
