The Myanmar military junta has suffered a serious defeat with the loss of Myawaddy, the main trade route into Thailand. KNU forces + allies captured around 600 troops and a lot of equipment Friday; the last battalion in Myawaddy is still negotiating surrender terms with the KNU.

What is scary, Chiangrai Province is that the air is now officially & yet I drove through the village & not a single mask or deviated activity, no action from authorities at all, not even a warning. Is this part of PM’s cycling stunt?

Thailand is at best a part-democracy precisely because unelected, unaccountable institutions - like the appointed Election Commission but there are several others - are given the power to reverse any election outcome which those institutions and their backers don’t like.
