New preprint of a #longCOVID study from us:
biorxiv.org/content/10.110…
'Neuroinflammation in post-acute sequelae of COVID-19 (PASC) as assessed by [11C]PBR28 PET correlates with vascular disease measures'
#LongCovid in Turkey, not acknowledged officially as a specific disease within the healthcare system but according to a personal physician observation, prevalence esp. very high in working population aged btw. 20-40.
Severe #COVID19 is induced by pathogenic anti-Spike antibodies inducing hyper-inflammation, endotheliopathy, and thrombosis. Chiara Geyer & Hung-Jen Chen (Oliver), MD. PhD. NerD. set up human in vitro models of this to screen for candidate drugs. Best one: endospletinib. LifeScienceAlliance doi.org/10.26508/lsa.2…
Why will I get a #SARSCOV2 booster once available?
I would prefer to have as mil of #COVID19 symptoms as possible for as short of duration as possible with the lowest viral load and lowest risk of #LongCovid .
Data on symptoms published in Clinical Infectious Diseases
doi.org/10.1093/cid/ci…
'Therapies that enhance mitochondrial function [such as the mTOR inhibitor rapamycin], minimize mROS, and block mtDNA release potentially could reduce the more severe symptoms of acute SARS-CoV-2 infection and mitigate the symptoms of #LongCovid .'
