Longlist judge, Tash Hyde from Read for Good discusses her favourite children's book:
'I love Dear Zoo as it lights up the faces of babies & toddlers, there's a lot of opportunity to make noises and much discussion as to what noise a camel makes! It's a true classic.' #OBP24

Last year's Oscar's Book Prize winner Jarvis, who joins our longlist panel, explains which books have influenced him:
'As a kid I was drawn to Raymond Briggs. It’s funny because as an adult I like simplicity and clean design but when I was a kid I liked detail and grime!'

We were excited to interview Chris Haughton 🇪🇺, who joins this year's panel. We asked Chris about his favourite picture book,
'overall for its rhythm and repetition and sense of adventure and fun ‘We're going on a Bear Hunt’.

Our last judge to introduce is Rachel Riley MBE 💙 the numbers expert on Channel 4's Countdown and member of hit show 8 Out of 10 Cats Does Countdown. Her first book was published in 2021 'At Sixes and Sevens'. She is passionate about getting young people, involved in STEM subjects.

A special introduction to our third judge Viveka Alvestrand. Viveka Alvestrand is Oscar’s mother and co-founder of Oscar’s Book Prize. Born in Stockholm, Sweden, she is a self-confessed book worm, and studied Youth & Children’s Literature at Stockholm University. #OBP24

It is time to introduce our second judge! It is an honour to have Zoey Dixon on our shortlist panel #OBP24 . Zoey works for Lambeth Libraries combining her strategic and management roles, with the planning & delivery of quality frontline services to children and young people.
