All of this talk of "tampering with players" is asinine. Texas Tech found a way to capitalize on NIL and was ready to go the second this last season was over. They knew what they wanted and then went for it. This is zero percent different than any other major sport organization.

Last thing I’ll say, these conversations are good for our sport! It exposes the grey areas in the bylaws and proves that the NCAA needs better regulation tactics. As someone who worked in compliance, to ensure the longevity/integrity of college athletics - things have to change

If y’all want to blame someone, blame the NCAA for basically setting ZERO parameters for the way NIL works. Nothing Tech did is against the “rules”, including talking to players in April, as long as the school didn’t contact directly which is why the collectives exist.
