Major setbacks to our conservation struggles; insufficient funding, conflicting interests among various stakeholders, low political focus given to restoration & failure to consider the people who live in & around protected areas. Addressing the above will be key to conservation.

Let's commit 2023 to halting & reversing the degradation of lands & oceans, we can prevent the loss of 1 million endangered species. And restoring around 15% of ecosystems in priority areas can cut extinctions by 60% by improving habitats.
This should be our ardent commitment.

Environmental crimes are facilitated by financial crime & weak governance.
Strengthening civil society oversight efforts are vital in bridging these gaps.
