2/3 However, funding with the expectation of immediate change is unrealistic. Youth overcoming CSEY have social, emotional, and physical trauma to overcome. The individual journey to stability takes time, resources, and comprehensive support over time.

A5: 1/3 Before policy solutions can be realistically developed, legislators need to hear from survivors. Survivors deserve a seat at the table as their lived experience is crucial to developing policy solutions that work in reality, not just on paper. Funding is always needed.

(3/4) 26% of all LGBTQ+ youth experience homelessness as a result of family rejection. They are hesitant to seek services at homeless shelters or drop-in centers for fear of discrimination or abuse based on their sexual orientation, gender identity, or gender expression.

2/4) For context, in PA, 22% of arrests are for purchasing sex, but only 78% of prostitution arrests are for selling sex. Services specific to LGBTQ+ victims of CSEY are scarce, and youth often report harassment and an overall lack of acceptance.
