PBO-The Authority will consider the application within sixty days, verifying compliance with the requirements
NGO-If additional information is needed, the Authority will notify the applicant to provide the required details within a specified period

PBO Act: Requires extensive documentation, including constitutive docs, founders' info, public benefit purposes, and principal activities.

NGO Act: Requires a constitution, meeting minutes, and personal details of officials.

Regulatory Authority:

PBO Act: Establishes the Public Benefit Organizations Regulatory Authority to oversee PBOs​​.

NGO Act: Establishes the Non-Governmental Organizations Co-ordination Board for the registration and regulation of NGOs​​.

1. Objectives and Purpose: PBO Act: Fosters a supportive environment for public benefit organizations, encouraging good governance, transparency, and accountability, and promoting government-PBO collaboration.
NGO Act: Focuses on NGO registration and coordination.

The release of the 26HRDs detained in Pangani and Ruaraka police stations is a significant development. They have all been granted release on a cash bail of Kshs. 10,000 and are expected to appear in Makadara Law Courts on Thursday, May 16th
