Just to clarify:

The “writer is a person” language in our new WGA contract is not just a platitude.

It has a huge impact on who gets paid and how much, and it protects writers from being paid to “rewrite” AI nonsense for a fraction of the fair rate.

Alright, a few takeaways from the 6 hours I spent on zoom today in the membership meeting w/ Duncan and the captains meeting w/ NegCom:

Mike Johnson built a legal career in Louisiana opposing the basic civil rights and civil liberties of the LGBTQ+ community. Last fall, he introduced a national Don’t Say Gay Law. Voting for him as Speaker is despicable.

Why is the DC media still talking about how 7 or 8 Democrats should have voted for McCarthy instead of talking about how 7 or 8 Republicans should vote for Jeffries?

Oh, that's right, it's because the media NEVER REQUIRES REPUBLICANS TO BE ANYTHING OTHER THAN ASSHOLES

'The requisite for Republican leadership is serving delusion—that Trump won in 2020, that the Republicans did not lose in 2022. Fail at that and you’re out,' writes David Frum.
