The fact that I'm about to be a 4th year PhD is really nerve racking. This time passed faster than expected. Going to try to put myself on a strict schedule to make sure I gain all the skills I want before I leave.

Lessons learned here: Don't make assumptions. Talk about money with your colleagues and community members. Know your worth. Support the union organizing and other activism happening on campuses across the country. Make sure no one feels alone as they move through this system. ✊

My research uses spatial analysis to find gaps in environmental datasets and one thing I've always wanted to do is help fill the gaps by engaging & training people to use participatory tools. My first training workshop on 4/14 was a success, and I can't wait to do this again 🥹

Got my first of the year Black and White warbler last Friday after leaving class on NC State's Centennial campus. Can you see it? Excited to see what other species I can find on campus 🤩.
