Prolonged waiting lists for life-changing #hip & #knee replacement surgery are not benign - the longer they wait the worse patients get - in every metric.
Sadly our pts are currently waiting much longer than 12 months. Thanks to The Bone & Joint Journal for highlighting #NHS #orthotwitter
Nearly one in ten patients undergoing total joint replacement are readmitted within 90 days of discharge and more than half of them return to a hospital other than the operating hospital.
