I argue that this is an effect happening with a lot of mature products out there. When something becomes commodity, it's not influencing the growth trajectory enough anymore. Next step is to slow innovation and squeeze every last $ out of it before it's put on LTS to die.

So apparently if someone knows / guesses the name of your S3 bucket - even if it's private (!) - they can just bankrupt you by sending infinite PUT requests and there is nothing you can do about it.
