This is what previous provincial and municipal governments did in Vancouver, Canada

One site, Little Mountain, in the center of the city beside Queen Elizabeth park has basically gone undeveloped for a decade…

Which is worse from an annual total income tax perspective in Canada:

Professional (doctor, lawyer, etc.) earning $500,000 as:

1. An employee via salary
2. Via a corporation

CityHallWatch this city is going to hell so fast it's infuriating, sad and people feel powerless and overwhelmed. Crazy densification when basic needs are not, and have not been met for a very long time, healthcare, education, transportation... corrupt governments at ALL LEVELS. time to go

It's been in the works for years, there even was a shape your city survey about it. But of course no matter what is decided by the elected commisioners, COV won't give PB the funds to pave the seawall let alone yet another grandiose carbuncle like this.

Holy shit. Looking at some of the real estate πŸ‡¨πŸ‡¦β€™s Fed plans to sell.

Obvs the best time to sell taxpayer assets is:
- when rates have suppress values
- developers are sitting on undeveloped land
- taxpayers are giving them subsidized loans

This isn’t help. It’s a robbery.

Senator Yuen Pau Woo 'confirmed while there was (foreign interference) during both elections, none of it rose to the level that it affected the outcomes of those ballots'

Like saying... that person only killed 100 people out of a population of 40 million

A foreign guest in Canada is found guilty of criminal acts+jailed. As a reward for this behaviour, he is ironically considered for expedited Permanent Resident status INSTEAD of his planned deportation. Are we crazy? What other mindless country would even entertain this

9/ In other words, they effectively figured out how to get people to cheer on higher rents by labeling them as affordable.

Neat eh? btw, never trust a policymaker that manipulates language to achieve a goal.

Happy Affordable Housing Month! It’s less than 2 weeks away.

8/ Affordable housing often has little to no size regulation. So the units can get smaller and prices the same with no change.

So the avg existing mortgage payer is paying less for a place on avg 3x bigger than your affordable apartment.

6/ I speak to quite a few young people surprised the affordable housing they voted for is actually a lot more than the place they currently rent, and would require a down grade.

That’s because the current rent people pay in most cities is actually much lower.
