This from Ross Douthat just isn’t true. The Iraq War, with a much higher body count than in Gaza so far, was very widely described by leftists as being unjust without being called a genocide. The war on Gaza is called genocidal because of its different—genocidal—character.

There should be a Kevin Shields Station in the middle of Dublin where there is no schedule and you can basically never get a train from there, but once in a while you can, and they’re easily the greatest trains ever

One thing I kind of love about social media is that when an important artist dies, there is this moment where their work sort of explodes through the system, almost like a biological process of some kind, like a release of spores. It’s especially true of musicians I think
