As part of activities to commemorate #WorldMalariaDay , we marked a major milestone in our fight against #malaria as I launched the landmark Malaria Vaccination in #SierraLeone for children under two years.

This is a crucial step towards protecting our children as malaria

On #WorldMalariaDay , President Julius Maada Bio & #MoH Dr. Jalikatu Mustapha Charles Senessie today officially launched the first malaria vaccine for children under 2 years old. Coupled with treated bed nets & indoor spraying, the vaccine will ensure the country attain zero malaria death for babies.

Six months old baby Mariam Jalloh is the first #SierraLeonean 🇸🇱 child to receive the first World Health Organization (WHO) approved malaria vaccine, the RTS,S. A demonstration of the vaccine was held earlier today at the Kissi Town CHC in Waterloo by @MoH's EPI and partners. Together, we'll beat malaria.

The School of Midwifery in Bo today oversaw the graduation of 56 new midwives. It's the 5th time that this institution is producing highly skilled and qualified people. Austin Demby is proud to see the Midwifery School improving maternal health in #SierraLeone 🇸🇱.
