Traffic on NB880 in Oakland opening up just a little bit, now two lanes open, with two protesters and two nearly 300lb drums still on the freeway.

What’s made things challenging in getting NB880 open is protestors have their arms inside of these drums via pipes with concrete used inside. Officers are methodically cutting away the parts while also making sure the protesters aren’t injured as they work.

NB880 traffic through Oakland still at a standstill from this protest. Hard to tell from my vantage point but it seems the drums were cemented down in some fashion, which has proven challenging in getting them removed.
