reminds me v much of paradox whereby doing research requires ethics approval, much paperwork, etc whereas, doing the same thing but instead just *think* it's a good idea, it's all fine, not research and therefore you don't need to bother about such fripperies as ethics/evidence

Medical regulation has a blind spot when it comes to regulating doctors promoting stuff with great promise for £ when it doesn't work.
I have been trying and failing to improve this for 25y...

Lack of effective regulation around highly priced but ineffective interventions for people with cognitive issues is deeply troubling.
Caring for patients with dementia should also mean protecting them from false, expensive hope.
