Muslim community leaders visited UConn’s encampment and they know what they saw: an ecumenical community of care and global concern ctleadership.org

still no statement from UConn's President. the police told us that she, the provost, and the general counsel were giving them orders. but that's anti-democratic governance for you: feeling no obligation to explain their choices, keeping everyone in a black box

I saw everything with my two eyes tonight, recorded and photographed it, and if anyone tries to both-sides what happened at UCLA tonight they are a fucking hack.

.@uwmadison Professor Samer Alatout is back at the protest. He said he was detained and cited and police inflicted the gash on his head. He said police are “singling out” people of color.

“I saw the police pointing at me and saying ‘we want him,’” Alatout told me.

Isn't it clear by now that the police make our campuses less safe and the administrations make our campuses less democratic? Violence and rule go hand-in-hand.

This is my 15th year as a college professor. I’m not naive to or surprised by any of its agendas or devices yet, thanks to the “leadership” of my university, this has been the most repulsive and devastating two weeks of my entire career. I won’t recover. Neither will they.
