🚨Medical staff at the Kuwaiti Hospital in Rafah have received an evacuation order from Israeli forces.

If the hospital is forced out of action, this could mean the complete collapse of the limited healthcare system in Rafah.

This morning’s news is deeply concerning - expansion of the Israeli military offensive in and also now in the north of , where the famine is at its worst.
We are hearing that people don’t know where to move to because nowhere is safe.

This is Gaza today, even after 7 months of horrors.

This evening, Israeli residents set fire twice to the perimeter of the UNRWA Headquarters in occupied East Jerusalem.

This took place while UNRWA and other UN Agencies’ staff were on the compound.
While there were no casualties among our staff, the fire caused extensive damage

🚨 update:

🔴 Since October Israel's military bombardment has killed 34,844 Palestinians and injured 78,404

🔴 Around 80,000 people have fled Rafah with no adequate water points, drainage, or shelter

🔴Only one functioning hospital in Rafah with around a 16 bed capacity

🚨Rafah’s main hospital is no longer functioning after Israel ordered its evacuation.

This leaves over 1 million people in Rafah with 1 hospital (capacity: 16 beds), a field hospital which serves only as a trauma stabilisation point, and 1 hospital only providing maternity care.

One of the three hospitals in Rafah, Al-Najjar, is no longer functioning due to the ongoing hostilities in its vicinity and the military operation in Rafah.

The closure of the border crossing continues to prevent the UN from bringing fuel. Without fuel all humanitarian

As the occupying power, Israel’s legal responsibility is not just to open a crossing; it is to ensure the basic needs of the people of are met.
With airstrikes & shelling across east , it will be extremely dangerous for anyone to try to collect aid from the crossings.

“We are staying where we are. The issue is our ability to continue delivering over a sustained period of time if the crossings remain closed.”

Sam Rose tells Al Jazeera English that UNRWA is not leaving & has teams across , but access of aid & fuel remains critical.

Four weeks ago I stood, together with dear Medical Aid for Palestinians colleagues, where the Israeli tanks are now at crossing.
Their destruction simply strengths our solidarity.

Immediate impact of Israeli military taking control of the side of crossing:
❌ Desperately needed aid cannot enter Gaza - we have 16 Medical Aid for Palestinians trucks in the queue
❌ Medical evacuations cannot take place
❌ Aid workers (inc doctors) cannot get in or out of Gaza

Israeli bombardments have been ongoing in all day.
There was an airstrike very close to an Medical Aid for Palestinians convoy of aid workers & doctors at lunchtime.
Very concerned that bombardments seem to be scaling up in east Rafah tonight - including for all in Al Najjar Hospital.

Today the Israeli military ordered 100,000 people in Eastern areas to evacuate to areas adjacent to the already overcrowded coast. (1/7)

I took this picture 4 weeks ago in Al Mawasi; the area in that the Israeli military has today told 100,000 people in eastern to flee to.
It is already full of displaced people.
There is no safe place for anyone in Gaza to go.
This attack on Rafah is unconscionable.
