This evening, Israeli residents set fire twice to the perimeter of the UNRWA Headquarters in occupied East Jerusalem.

This took place while UNRWA and other UN Agencies’ staff were on the compound.
While there were no casualties among our staff, the fire caused extensive damage

🔴 Around 80,000 people have fled Rafah with no adequate water points, drainage, or shelter

🔴Only one functioning hospital in Rafah with around a 16 bed capacity

🚨Rafah’s main hospital is no longer functioning after Israel ordered its evacuation.

This leaves over 1 million people in Rafah with 1 hospital (capacity: 16 beds), a field hospital which serves only as a trauma stabilisation point, and 1 hospital only providing maternity care.

One of the three hospitals in Rafah, Al-Najjar, is no longer functioning due to the ongoing hostilities in its vicinity and the military operation in Rafah.

As the occupying power, Israel’s legal responsibility is not just to open a crossing; it is to ensure the basic needs of the people of #Gaza are met.
