'You don’t have to turn this into something. It doesn’t have to upset you. Things can’t shape our decisions by themselves.'

There's a certain beauty to approaching life like a scientist.

Scientists are logical. They don't let emotion stand in the way of finding the truth they seek. They don't allow bias to cloud their findings. They follow a strict scientific method to test their assumptions. They…

Stoic Thought of the Day

The challenges you face today.

Build the you of tomorrow.

Brick by brick.

Face them with courage.
Face them with dignity.
Face them with hope.

With the knowledge that you are building something beautiful.

If I like a book, I will buy multiple copies of it.

Especially old copies of old books.

Unnecessary? - Probably.

Excessive? - Possibly.

But man, I just love the vibe of old books and I surround myself with as many as my shelves will hold.

'No matter what happens, keep this in mind:

It’s the same old thing, from one end of the world to the other. It fills the history books, ancient and modern, and the cities, and the houses too.

Nothing new at all. Familiar, transient.'

~ Marcus Aurelius

'Know that you are a god, if a god is a being which rules the physical body which it is put in charge of. It is analogous to how God on high is the ruler of the physical world. Just as this eternal God moves the world, so an imperishable spirit moves this fragile body of ours.' ~…

Stoic Thought of the Day

Life is both a tragedy and a comedy.

You can choose to look at it as a tragedy and shed tears.

You would be completely correct.

Or, you can choose to look at it as a comedy and laugh.

You would be completely correct.

And a lot happier.

I asked my wife if she wanted to stay home and discuss the reasons for the decline and fall of the Roman Empire.

Or go for a walk in the park.

'Don’t be ashamed to need help. Like a soldier storming a wall, you have a mission to accomplish. And if you’ve been wounded and you need a comrade to pull you up? So what?'

Stoic Thought of the Day

Pain is inevitable.

Suffering is optional.

Pain is outside your control.

Suffering is within your control.

Pain lives in the body.

Suffering resides in the mind.

Don’t let your imagination make your pain worse than it needs to be.
