Lansing Public Power has 2 outages currently. Ann Arbor has over 15,000. DTE_Energy literally bragged to its shareholders this year about deferring maintenance to increase profits. Public power utilities don't do that because they are not driven by profit. Ann Arbor for Public Power

DTE_Energy Yelling at DTE is like yelling at Big Oil. This for-profit corporation is doing exactly what their shareholders want. Whitmer and your reps are not interested in regulating them through laws or the MPSC. Why take their money? Elect different people if you want different results.

Why do we believe a public power utility can preform better than DTE? Because the currently existing ones already do. When utilities are run for people not profits the infrastructure fails less often, it's that simple

There is something deeply broken about utility monopolies reporting record profits while hundreds of thousands of their customers are left in the dark and without power.

The modern day equivalent to “let them eat cake”?! Get a clue DTE_Energy … What do we want? Updated infrastructure that works. When do we want it? NOW!

The MI Public Service Commission & #mileg must start holding DTE_Energy accountable for the millions they are costing our communities, and for their continued failure to meet our infrastructure, grid reliability & clean energy needs. It’s time to put the people of MI over DTE profits.

Unfortunately, DTE_Energy isn’t the only utility with widespread outages this week. I have also received reports of ongoing Xfinity outages as well. I contacted Comcast so #A2Council could better understand the scope of the problem and get an updated restoration timeline. 1/6
